We actually made time to take a "just for fun" early morning bike. I love those too often un-observed moments when the day is young and the delicious cool air softly floats off the back of the mountain. Living waterside, I rarely get out into the mountain rising up behind my studio. People come to this lake each summer to enjoy these kinds of treasures for body, mind and spirit.
Here, the quiet country roads and trails offer opportunities to stop and really see the landscape and natural beauty that make this place feel so magical......
Today I am thankful for wildflowers and not wildfires that are so much a part of this summer weather in the southern interior of BC. It is so hot and the unusually dry winter has made situations so dangerous for fires. Here the sky is saturated with smoke and we are reminded daily to be aware and respectful. The beauty that is here is so impacted by our actions and I don't want to sound preachy but Climate Change is real and we Do
have to be responsible for making a change to reduce our impact. I know that riding my bike feels good for me and our Mother Earth.
